How to play the 29 card game

• Four players in two teams; partners sit opposite each other.
• 32 cards (7 to Ace in each suit) with 28 points in a hand. Jack is worth 3, Nine 2, Ace and Ten 1 each.
• Cards rank Jack, Nine, Ace, Ten, King, Queen, Eight, Seven.
• After four cards each, players bid from 16 to 28: how many points their team will take.
• The highest bidder chooses trump in secret, or trusts the seventh card. A player out of the led suit can ask for the trump to be shown, then cut.
• Marriage: the King and Queen of trump in one hand move the bid target by four points.
• Make the bid and your team scores a game point; fall short and you lose one. The first team to six wins.
